Argentinian Wine = YUM!!

Here are my doggie pictures, in all their shining glory! Petra is the little one and Sydney is the big dawg. They are both very photogenic, don’t you think? Petra loved the camera, while Sydney was just like, “Stop pointing that stupid, flashing box at me and throw the friggin’ stick already!” Sydney is the kind of dog I hope to one day own. He has hair instead of fur, so there’s minimal shedding. Plus that’s easier on the allergies. His hair has to be cut a lot (about every 6 weeks) but that’s roughly how often I get a haircut, so I think that’s manageable. Plus he loves water (hence the title “Portuguese water dog”) so we get along splendidly. That patch of white hair on his chest and then his white doggie socks are the cutest thing! You can’t really see it in these pictures, but his dog tag is actually in the shape of a red bow tie, so it looks like he’s wearing a tuxedo. How cute is that?

Well enough gushing. I’ve also included a pic of Addie. She and Sydney got along famously. Petra however did not trust Addie at first. She took some winning over. But Addie prevailed. Horray for dogs and kids!

Last night was a wonderful evening. Ginny and I had reservations for a wine tasting event at Devotay. Every month they feature a different selection of wines to taste. This month’s theme was “Argentinian wine.” So we had four pours (two white, two red) and three different kinds of tapas. It was delicious. At first, I was a little intimidated because my knowledge of wine is somewhat limited to say the least. But the company was good and the owner was fun and charismatic and with the wine flowing like it was, I was comfortable in no time. I learned a lot about the particular wines featured, but it was really hard to hear in the restaurant, so I think I might have missed a few facts.

After the tasting, we all decided to stick around for an actual meal. Ginny and I split an order of sea scallops and then ordered our own desserts. (I had the bread pudding, it was amazing!) We met a delightful couple who made the evening quite enjoyable. They were fun and funny and quite knowledgeable. They had brought a friend along who regaled me with her theory on how men are like shoes. Shoe theory aside, I will definitely be up for the wine tasting again. It was so much fun!

Okay, well, back to my day. It’s been painfully slow here in the office, but I’m going to try to get some of our info binder compiled. I just needed a break from staring mindlessly at the Outlook calendar.

Peace and Love
