Weekend Recap

I don’t know about anyone else, but I had a very bizarre weekend. Well, to be accurate, it was really just my Friday night that was bizarre, but I think I’m still reeling from it a bit. I kid you not, I went through every range of emotion possible and maybe even repeated a few in there somewhere. Confusion and surprise were the two main ones. I don’t really want to go into all of the gory details, because they are quite personal, but suffice it to say, the full moon definitely had an effect on my life Friday night. No werewolves were involved, but I kind of wish they had been instead. At least my wounds would be physical…

Anyways, enough of speaking in cryptic codes. Friday night was bad, but Saturday was quite lovely. Saturday morning (in order to take my mind off the previous evening’s happenings) I went over to the studio and got everything set up. All I need now is a chair and I’m good to go.

Saturday night I did a double-feature of sitting. I dogsat for Petra and Sydney and I babysat for Adelaide. It was actually quite ingenious because I took Addie over to help me let the dogs out and she played with them for a good hour and a half. By the time we left she was pooped, the dogs were pooped and I was doing A-okay. I took some pics and I’ll try to remember to get those up tomorrow.

Sunday was a very lazy day until about 5:00. I decided to get my butt off the couch and go to a yoga class and boy am I glad I did. The normal instructor was gone (apparently for good) and was replaced by the powerful and wonderful Martha. Martha is a yoga goddess. She knows so much and teaches so well. I’m never able to make it to her Wednesday night class, so I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the classroom to find her teaching. Needless to say, my butt was thoroughly kicked by 6:00 p.m.

After class, I was chatting with a friend of mine about the YogaFit certification class and Martha came up to join our conversation. Martha was actually trained in a different style of instruction, so her technique is different from I’ve learned. She invited me to come to her private studio for a heated yoga class. “You’ll really like it.” She said. “You’re incredibly strong, so it should be a piece of cake for you…” I was so flattered! That is a really nice compliment coming from an instructor of her caliber. So I’m going to go try a heated yoga class on Sunday. Wish me luck!

Well, I’m working tomorrow and then it’s off from work for five whole days. I won’t know what to do with myself. (That’s not true, I have lots to do!) But it’s still really exciting to have all of that time just for myself.

To go back to Friday night, I think my friends will agree, those shots of tequila were NOT a good idea…

Peace and Love
