Where to begin? The past couple of weeks have been such a whirlwind of friends and fun activities, I can’t even remember everything that’s happened…okay maybe I can.
So I thought I would hate teaching yoga, but I actually love it! I’m sure it has something to do with my constant need for attention and my over-sized ego. In all seriousness though I truly love practicing and sharing yoga with others. My personal favorite part of practice (teaching or learning) is the relaxation or chavasana portion at the end. It’s such a great reward for your body after all the hard work it’s done. I have one more week of teaching left. I haven’t had much luck lining up a job at Core, but all of my sweet ladies at the hospital have vowed to go wherever I teach. I have yoga groupies!
I’m not exactly sure what Iowa City has done to piss off the weather gods, but it must have been pretty serious. I cannot believe the winter we’ve had. I swear there’s an ice storm or a blizzard every other day. We just can’t catch a break. Needless to say, all this frozen precipitation has made it perilous and pretty much impossible to travel to the painting studio. Coralville literally ran out of sand and salt. Ugh! I have so many projects lined up that I can’t start, which is frustrating to say the least. As soon as we get a good thaw, I’ll definitely be holing myself up in that basement. Unless it’s flooded. (I’m soooo kidding, Ginny.) Stupid weather.

I'm itching to get back in the studio because of all these projects. I have some really fun ones lined up. I have a couple of portraits of co-workers' kids to do. Miss Meliss has commissioned a series of quirky camel paintings that will be adorable. Another of my co-workers has commissioned a painting of a chair to hang over her toilet. Ha! It's going to be so cool! And the wonderful Ginny picked out her canvas and will begin piecing together her collage items for her painting for her home. I still have a request up from another co-worker for a painting of Danforth Chapel on campus (it's where she got married). And this summer I'll start a project of a large painting of my friend Mary's house. Plus there' s the illustrations to finish for Dr. Gantz. Oh how I wish this ice would melt! And you know once it melts I'm going to want to be outdoors and not cooped up in a basement. Catch 22, I guess.
But I've still managed to keep myself busy, despite the weather...
This past weekend I went to prom. That’s right. Prom. The med school prom to be exact. I cannot believe how much fun we had! Even sweet Miss Meliss came along! My prom date wore a tuxedo (and looked ever so handsome!) This is how we danced at the prom, by the way. How very junior high of us...

I'm planning to lay low on Saturday and Sunday and catch up on laundry and reading. I also need to get cookin' on my Netflix again. I have lots of flicks lined up in my queue that I want to get through so I can add more. A movie-viewer's work is never done.
I'll try to be better about updating my info. St. Patty's day is coming up as well as Nick's birthday and Easter. Lots of great things are developing, so stay tuned!
