I can hear my neighbor's boyfriend snoring through the wall. So not only do I get to listen to the pounding, juvenile soundtrack of whatever Playstation game he plays routinely at 5:00 p.m. every evening or the gut wrenching squeals of a tickle fight followed by moaning I can't quite seem to drown out by turning on my fan and smashing a pillow over my head, now I have to listen to the cacophonous wheeze elicited by his deviated septum. Sometimes it feels like I never moved out of the dorms.
But, to make up for it, I did spend a glorious evening at the movies with Miss Meliss. On a whim, we defied all warnings of impending snowstorms and journeyed across Iowa City to see Atonement. That was the best decision I've made all week. What a magnificent film. I must admit I have developed a giant crush on James McAvoy. I thought he was brilliant in The Last King of Scotland...and this role...wow. I can't wait to see what else he chooses. He'll have his pick of roles after this film. What is it about Scottish dudes? I love 'em.
Well, I better get some rest. It's intensity city at work lately and I'll need my wits about me to weather the storm. Thank goodness for the miraculous escape of fictional narrative. I don't know what I would do without it.
cheers.
