Snowballs...Big Ones

My last blog expressed frustration over events that have happened in the work place. Suffice it to say, these events and encounters continue and now seem to be having a snowball effect. I’m afraid this particular snowball is too big to be able to address fully via blog, but hopefully resolution will come soon. If not, I shall seek employment elsewhere. I refuse to continue to give power to a foolish, spineless bully. I understand that we’re all tested at certain points in our lives, but I’ve endured this test before and know that I would endure

On a more positive note, I registered for my summer class (Elementary Psych) and will start the path to my new career on May 19. I can’t believe how eager I am to learn something new. It feels like it’s been ages since I bought a textbook and actively challenged my mind. It’s nice to take control of the future again…I didn’t realized how trapped I felt until I made this decision.

I plan to make the trip home to Spencer to visit my mom for Mother’s Day. Mom seems to be a little hesitant about my plans for the future, so hopefully we can bond and discuss and come to some kind of agreement. She’s been such a huge part of my decision-making for so long, that I really do want to include her and hopefully help her understand that this isn’t a flash in the pan…for realsies. It's also a snowball...just a positive one instead!

This summer I’ll be traveling to Arizona with some friends on vacation. We have some fun things planned, like a day trip to the Grand Canyon, maybe a stop at Slide Rock, definitely a stop in Sedona, and we’re staying in a beautiful house in Scottsdale. Right now it seems so far away, but really it’s not. I’ve booked my flights, so it’s beginning to feel somewhat real. I’ll also spend some time in Chicago afterwards, cruising the Art Institute and hopefully taking in a Cubs game. Then it’s back to the grind for a few weeks before I move. But I’ll save those moving details for a later blog…

Peace and Love
