One is Silver and the Other's Gold

Can I just say, I've been making such wonderful new friends over the past few months and have been getting in touch with old ones. I am truly blessed to have so many witty, fun, easy-going people in my life. I have never been happier than I am right now, which is strange considering the fact that my job is a question mark and I'm not quite sure what's going to happen to my future. But somehow it doesn't seem so bad anymore. A year ago, I was a basket-case. Now, I feel secure and...peaceful. Funny what getting rid of those toxic elements in you life can do for you. So this is a big bear hug to all the super-cool people in my life. You're the best!

I will hopefully be traveling to our nation's capital this spring. I have wanted to go to D.C. for two years now and am finally getting to do it. I haven't been too far from Iowa since I went to Orlando almost three years ago for the Capitol One Bowl. It's time to get my traveling shoes on! Ya know, I think life is backwards sometimes. People have to work when they are young and able-bodied and it's only when they are old and unable to work that they get to retire and take a break. I think you should get periodic years off throughout your lifetime. Work one year, travel the next, or have a baby, or build a house, whatever-- the point is, you're living your life and not devoting yourself whole-heartedly to work. Americans take work way too seriously. I wish we lived more like Europeans do...Ah well. Maybe some day...
